Throughout the month of June, two teams of four Bank employees donated eight hours of their work day to help at the shelter. As volunteers, they walked and bathed dogs, cleaned cages, laundered towels and blankets and spent time caring for the animals.  It was through their time volunteering that the Bank Independent team realized the current challenges and needs of the shelter.

“Volunteering at the shelter was hard work, but it was very rewarding,” shared Bank Independent volunteer Jason Bowie. “Our team was busy all day, and there was still so much that could be done for these animals.  I would encourage everyone to visit the shelter and help out for at least a few hours. If our work helped just one of these pets, it was well worth the effort.”

“As a local bank, we encourage every team member to serve and give back to their community, and that’s what Operation Helping Hands is all about,” explains Bank Independent Shoals Area President Bill Howard. “It has always been our top priority to invest in the Shoals area and to help it continue to grow and thrive. Whether investing our time, money or effort, giving back to the local community is something we have always done and will continue to do.”
