Richard T. Robertson – Obituary

richardRichard T. Robertson was born August 12, 1924 in Wayne County, Tenn. He was the son of the late William Edgar and Lillie Pearl Holt Robertson. He died Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Wayne Medical Center in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 88 years, 10 months, and 20 days. Mr. Robertson, a U.S. Army veteran, proudly served his country during World War IIreceiving numerous awards for his service. Mr. Robertson, a graduate of University of North Alabama, became a social worker retiring after years of service in the Department of Human Services in Wayne County. He was a member of Fairview Church of Christ, a member of Collinwood Masonic Lodge, and Eastern Star.

He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Olive Robertson of Collinwood, Tenn.; three children, Shelia Riley of Iron City, Tenn., Ronald Robertson of Florence, Ala., and Nancy Brooks of Iron City, Tenn; 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and

1 great-great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Robertson was preceded in death by a great grandson, Waylon Pyrdum; and a brother, Norman.

Services will be today at 1:00 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Chapel in Collinwood, Tenn. with Sonny Bogus officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in McGlamery Cemetery in Collinwood with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Visitation is today from 9 a.m. until service time. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
