ST. FLORIAN – Chip Kasmeier is staying pretty busy nowadays. He doesn’t mind the work, though. Chip is busy putting the finishing touches on the town’s latest project, an amphitheatre. An amphitheatre is an open-air venue used for entertainment and performances. And that’s just what is planned for the near future.
“I thought we would have it ready for the Fourth (of July), but we’re not quite there,” he told The Quad-Cities Daily. We have the concrete finished for the dance floor in front of the stage, but the sod’s not in. So we won’t make it by Thursday. But it will be ready to go by Labor Day and Oktoberfest.
The amphitheatre will feature hillside seating, sort of like Wolf Trap in Virginia, but with a Southern flair.
